« on: July 12, 2011, 06:02:13 PM »
Simple video showing how to Partition a Hard Drive on Windows 7:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/q6_wwuBp0iI?version=3" target="_blank" class="new_win">http://www.youtube.com/v/q6_wwuBp0iI?version=3</a>

Start > (Right click) Computer > Manage > Disc Management

Find the Drive you want to Set the Partition on then Right click and select "Shrink Volume..."

You will then need to work out the space you want to Partitions off from the rest of the Hard Drive then proceed. Once the Partition is set you need to format the new space. Right click the space and select the first option. You will then be asked to set the Drive Letter, select the one that you want to set and continue. You are now ready to put Data on the new Partition.

Sizes:
1GB = 1024MB
10GB = 10240MB
100GB = 102400MB
1TB = 1024000MB (1000GB - High Capacity Drive)

2GB = 2048MB
20GB = 20480MB
200GB = 204800MB
2TB = 2048000MB (2000GB - High Capacity Drive)

3GB = 3072MB
30GB = 30720MB
300GB = 307200MB
3TB = 3072000MB (3000GB - High Capacity Drive - most people will never use this amount up)

Calculations:
+1024MB (for every 1GB you want to set)
GB x 1024 (to get the size in MB)
